We're Home

We got back late Thursday night and we're just now completely unpacked and getting back into the swing. We had a great trip ending in 3 days in St. Augustine Florida, the oldest city in America. If you haven't been, plan a trip. It's charming. See ya next trip...

Sarasota/Orlando

Hi again. I know it's been days since the last post....we are just having too much fun !

Did all of the Ringling Bros property, our favorite being Ca D Zan, Mable and John Ringling's home...BEAUTIFUL !! Extraordinary furnishings like the mansions of Rhode Island. The circus museum and art museum were great as well.

Had a great time in Sarasota visiting our friends Irene & Dave and a bonus of Mary & Pete where we enjoyed the sunset at their condo in Longboat Keys. Had lunch with Eddie's brother Robert and spent some time with him and our niece Samantha at their home.

Had dinner with Eddie's friend Ron in Orlando and spent 2 days there doing both Universal Parks. We enjoyed feeling like kids and going to Harry Potter and enjoying the rides. I had to do one more roller coaster and have finally decided I'm done, though the next day Eddie and I both went on one...we won't do anymore, Eddie is not a fan, though we did have fun in the Mummy returns and the Men in Black Rides.

Back to FLA

We are leaving this Sunday (tomorrow) back to Miami to stay with friends, then cousins nearby, then off to Sarasota FL and to see family, friends and the Ringling Bros Mansion and museum. We then go to Orlando to see an old friend of Eddie's who he went to Hebrew school with and were a band together (he's now a professional musician) and maybe to Epcot for the day. That's the plan for now.

Hope y'all are doing well. Comment or send us an email to let us know what you're up to.

xoxo

Aruba

As you can tell from my lack of info the last few days, we've been too busy relaxing to update the blog, which of course, is great news. Considering Eddie and I have NEVER stayed in one location for a week, this is a first for us. We weren't sure if Eddie would enjoy it or not, fearing boredom. He has now decided that we should be here 2 weeks....so there you go.
We have been enjoying extensive walking daily, walking along the beach, seeing the sunsets, working out every other day, being at the beach every day and enjoying the property including the lazy river pool. Last night out for Mexican (I get fresh Grouper at every restaurant, as it's prepared differently at each one and always delicious). Tonight we are going to dinner and a movie (movie tickets are a part of the price of the dinner !)We were going to take a tour of the little island, but decided we are just enjoying relaxing and doing nothing so much, that that is what we are going to do. That said, we have gone shopping a little, which has been fun. It is our opinion that Aruba is the Hawaii for the East Coasters and a place we actually do see ourselves coming back to in the near future.

Fort Lauderdale / Aruba

Got to Randy and Barbara's place and went to a local bar/ice skating rink, where we saw the little ones practicing ice hockey...too cute. We saw Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (ok...hard to follow British spy movie). Visited with Eddie's cousin's Michael & Barbara and Linda & Marty and had dinner with them. Then we saw another movie Sherlock Holmes, which we really liked. Next day Eddie test drove convertibles to see which one he likes best, we are still doing our comparative studying. Saw the movie Contraband and went to Aruba's for dinner and caught a really great band in Lauderdale by the Sea and continued on to our friends Joe and Gary.

Visited our friends Joe and Gary in Fort Lauderdale and had a great time. Took a 1.1 mile walk to the Bonnet House, the first house in Fort Lauderdale. It is a plantation style and the couple were both artists in their own right, though only Mr Bartlett sold his art and did very well. Check out the website (their pics are better than ours) http://www.bonnethouse.org/

We are now in Aruba (no pics taken yet as it's been kinda cool and rainy ! This is a desert island and it rained yesterday and today...amazing).

We are staying in a beautiful room with Eddie's cousin's Mark and Diane Elkins. Went to a great place for dinner and sat outside. The fresh Grouper was yummy. Today we got up AT 10AM, worked out and went to the beach today and had dinner in. Life is good !
